The ultimate goal of my study is to obtain a clear picture of the spin phenomena inhadron physics and its relation with nonperturbative structure of QCD. With collaboratorswe are approaching this goal from two directions. First is by studying how nonperturbativeeffects, in particular instantons, influence the spin dependent cross sections with hadrons.The second direction is to use twisted particle beams for study spin effects in nonperturbative regime.

In the first part of the talk I willargue that instantons could be the reason behind a long-standing problem of large azimuthal spin asymmetries in hadron physics. Based on the instanton induced effective interactions we calculate the cross-section and transverse single-spin asymmetry for pion in p+p ->π­­+X without using fragmentation functions.

In the second part I will talk abouttwisted particles- non-plane-wave states of any particles which carry nonzero, adjustable orbitalangular momentum with respect to their average propagation direction. Collision of such states offers a completely new degree of freedom in collider experiments and, especially, anovel tool for hadronic physics.

In the third part I will talk about my ongoing research for the role of axial meson exchange in elasticepscattering and how it affects extraction of proton electromagnetic form factors.
